Houston Quilt Market Chapter 1

Just back from Houston, landed 3 hours ago.  And still have enough energy to write this.  I must have done something right this time!  Maybe the shorter trip was better for me!  Anyway, saw lots of cool new stuff.  Here is chapter 1:

I arrived late Friday - so - went straight to my hotel, had dinner, White Truffle Mac & Cheese, yummy comfort food! :-) at the hotel.  The next morning I got up early so I could pick up my Market Program.  This is the first glimpse I get of many of the new products and lets me know if there is any booth I really want to see that might not normally be on my agenda.

Here is my spot where I sat down at the convention center before the show opened to look over the program and take notes on anything that caught my eye.  (Do you notice the TWO pair of glasses on the table?  Starting to feel my age) :-(

Then when it got close to opening time I wandered over near the entrance and this is what I saw:

Can you believe how small the entry room is?  And, there were still people going down the escalator and no room for them.  They had to go down and straight back up again.  It's entertaining to watch and it happens every year.  You just hope no one gets hurt!  I wonder if anyone ever has?

The anticipation that fills the air as Market opens is exhilarating!  But, the crowd is not!  I stumbled over more wheeled suitcases then ever before.  I thought they banned those from the showroom floor?  If they unbanned them, I wish they would ban them again.  They are dangerous.  Hhhmmm, I think I'll bring one next year!

My energy is waning.  Chapter 2 tomorrow.
